Mandalam

The original Mandalam is a more complex form.
Some of the features of the mandalam:
- The outer circle represents the great protective circle that radiates the Mandala's infinite colorful light.
- 64 lotus petals represent the purified state of mind.
- Centre- Buddha of Compassion (usually represented by lotus flower)
- Palbhan (Endless Knot) - signifies Knowledge and Compassion
- Pema (Lotus) - signifies purity of mind
- Gyaltsen or Dhvaja (Victorious banner) - Banner of victory of Dharma over Evil
- Choekyi Khorlo or Dharmachakra (Wheel of Dharma) - Eternally turning and churning blessings
- Bhumpa (Vase) - Akshaypatra - a never ending source of good health, wealth, long life and prosperity
- Sernya (Golden Fish) - signifies the plain and transcendental truth
- Dug (Parasol) - Shields one from miseries and evil forces of the world
- Dhunkar (White Conch) - Awakens one from ignorance to the path of truth and noble deeds
